Film Production

Here at Sobriety Films UK we are passionate about getting peoples stories told and their messages heard. Below are some examples of our work over the years.

'Say Something'

Say Something was co-created during lockdown as part of the Insight Platform, Humankind online filmmaking workshops for young people. The film captures the story of Niamh, a 17 year old, living with addiction and mental ill health and her hopes for recovery.  It's her call-out to other young people to reach out and say something to someone if you’re struggling as there is always help out there.

'Sing'

'Sing' is a three minute film, that features Katie Kaboose, a singer-songwriter from Blackpool. It follows her story of recovery from alcoholism and mental illness. She reveals how her recovery connections, recovery group, the music community and her affinity with nature has helped her heal.

'How I Got Sober'

How I Got Sober - A Film About Recovery - is the compelling and emotional journey of alcoholics, Warren and Katie.  It follows their stories from extreme suffering in active addiction to how they manage their recovery and keep it in the day.

It premiered at the Reel Recovery Film Festival in LA 2019, followed by screenings in New York, London and during lockdown with Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems & the Scottish Recovery Consortium.  How I Got Sober was shortlisted for the World of Women Film Fair Middle East 2020.
