Recovery Street Film Festival

The Recovery Street Film Festival, running for over 10 years, invites amateur filmmakers with lived experience of alcohol and drug use to share their stories through film. Starting from grassroots screenings, it has grown into a national event with over a million views. The festival aims to amplify the voices of those personally affected by substance use, highlighting the realities of stigma, loss, and recovery, while celebrating community strength, hope, and courage. It is managed by a cross-sector group, with submissions open in May and judging in August-September each year.
